Just a couple of losers . . .

We are so excited that The Biggest Loser is back!! Last night's premiere was amazing, this is a HUGE group of people with TONS of baggage, which makes for great TV. We already have our favorites picked out I think (including darls coach Mo, the pink team, the firefighter, and of course Abby, whose husband and kids were killed in a car accident).

Speaking of the biggest loser on the planet - Kevin Federline is, but not in a good way. In fact, he has done the opposite of what these people are trying to do - he has ballooned since his glory days of being on Britney's arm. These pictures are astonishing.
Before
Now
Disgusting - I blame the amount of calories in each bottle of Patron that he surely downs on a daily basis.

Anyway, the reason for this post is that Tanya and I are going to do our own biggest loser between ourselves. We started yesterday and are going until Halloween (when we will blow it all and gain it all back eating Halloween candy). We will weigh in each Tuesday morning at the gym and are just trying to keep up the exercise despite our busy school/work schedules. We are also trying to eat better. It takes a lot of time and money to eat healthy, but we'll do our best!

We tried to think of a rewards system for the winner. Originally Tanya wanted her own Macbook, and I wanted Lasik. Then we came back to reality and the fact that we're broke, and decided if she wins we'll go to dinner at the roof (I don't think it's worth the money and have been before, but she hasn't) and we haven't thought of my reward yet.

So there you go . . . . it's ON!

Stretching out the Summer

This last weekend we went camping and boating with our friends at Jordanelle. Curtis + Ashley and us went camping, and we are so glad because we've been wanting to go all summer but didn't have anyone to go with. We drove my parents club wagon van up with the boat attached, and made it up Parleys at a roaring 35 MPH and got to the campground at midnight. We roasted hot dogs, made dutch oven cobbler (thank you Maddie and Tanner Purser for the dutch oven you gave us for our wedding!) and of course s'mores and made it to bed a little after 2 am.

We forgot to bring a can opener for the peaches, but luckily we found a hammer and hit the crap out of the can until it opened.

Dancing around our glorious blazing fire

getting the charcoals ready for the dutch oven.

Curtis + Ashley doing their usual posing faces

Peach cobbler made in record time - 25 minutes

We cheated and took the back bench out of the van and slept in it. I guess in the middle of the night I (Rod) started sleep talking. I woke up Tanya and said - "there's a rat in here - there's a rat in here and I know because I felt it" She, of course, didn't know I was sleep talking and freaked out. She got out of the van and honestly thought there was a rat. Sorry! There's a reason I didn't tell you about my sleep talking before we got married.

Saturday morning some more friends came up (Sharla and her boyfriend Nic, and Gentry) and we went boating. The weather was pretty amazing and it was a lot of fun. I got some practice learning to drive and use the boat.

Just a couple of posers.

Sharla and Nic - we luff them together.

Gentry got up quick even though it was only her 2nd time.

Cheeeeeps.

Da girls (Gent included)

The guys just took turns tubing and kicking the crap out of each other. We all got at least minor injuries. Nic and I slammed into each other and our shins hit - but worth it for crazy tubing!

Best Birfday Ever?

50 years never looked so good indeed. This year Rodney's birthday turned into a two week extravaganza, starting with opening gifts before we left for Cali.

I'm talking about purple and acid wash skinny jeans (yeah, it's happening), as well as a fashion scarf (pictured above), bow tie with sweater vest, and a wireless mouse for the pooter!

We spent Rod's actual birthday at Disneyland. It was so fun to hear strangers say happy birthday to him all day long. That weekend was a dream and the perfect way to spend a birthday (see previous post).

After we got home the fun continued at Tucanos, it's a birthday tradish. As is this pic of Rod biting the plate filled with buffalo wings while crossing his eyes. I think I have at least 4 pictures exactly like this one, all taken at different times. I'm so proud.

The waiters at Tucanos always pretend like they don't celebrate birthdays, then they bring out a giant, amazing ice cream sundae. Rod naturally tried to snort the whip cream.

Muff, I hope your birthday was as fun for you as it was for me! I love you so much. Tanks for being mine.

Love, Tan
