So long, so long . . .

Last week was a crasssssy one.  Two of Tanya's best friends had some stuff happen to 'em (good stuff).  On the same day, Alex Kelson went into the MTC to go to the San Francisco, CA mission and Dani Taylor got married.  We love Al a lot and already miss her.  We also love Dani and Nic and they're one of our favorite couples to double dizz with.  It was also a last chance to see Dan for awhile, since he graduated and is going to Europe and then to Oregon for the summer/forever?

A "goodbye Al" dinner at CPK

Our BFF Sharla was our waitress!  Twas worth the wait, she did a great job and kept those diet Pepsi's with lime comin' (and somehow made it so I didn't even realize they were yucky Pepsi)
 I thought they were Coke!

Saying goodbye to Sister Kelson at her farewell

We got to go to Dani and Nic's wedding dinner, their sealing in the SL temple, and the reception.  NIIICE!

Finally one of Tan's good friends is married.  Keep 'em comin'!

With Jilly Bean!  That week was full of hussies for sure!

With the couple at their reception

They really went all out with the ice sculptured swans.  I petted it.

School & Work - The ushe :(

WOW!  I (Rodney) have been done with my semester for about a week now, which is such a good feeling as always.  We'll see if I feel that way once my grades come out.  Tanya has about a week left (she's in her 2nd to last final as we speak).  It's been a fun but rough semester.  Both of us have had meltdowns over our futures (having pretty broad majors and not knowing what we're going to do).  I also had to commute to Provo 5 days a week and had 5 big group projects.  Tanya had to take math for the first time since high school.  It appears that we survived and in a semester or 2 will be graduated.
Here are some friends who feel the same way about school as we do . . .

Work . . . hmm, what can I say.  I need a new job! I asked if I could start working days as much as possible, shouldn't be a problem.  I have been scheduled all nights for 2 weeks in a row.  When I work all nights, I literally go to work as Tanya is getting off of work.  I come to home when she is already in bed, and I'm sleeping in when she gets up and goes to work.  It's so pissed, we hate it, and it needs to end.
SORRY so much complaints.  I had to get it off ma' chest.

It's Britney, B#%!@#

Ever since we found out that Britney Spears was going on tour for the first time in years, we really wanted to go.  We were back and forth wondering if it was worth the money.  Knowing that the Pussycat Dolls were opening for her made us want to go even more, but we still kept putting it off (or so I thought).  Tanya got me the tickets for Valentine's day!
Last night was the concert and it was a lot of fun.  Britney was outrageous as always, and since it's the "Circus Tour" she had some cool stuff.  She had jugglers, people coming down from the ceiling like in cirque du soleil, contortionists, gymnasts, rings of fire, n' such.  Her backup dancers are amazing and she was really good too.  She did all our favorite songs too, even some old ones. She's back ya'll.
The pussycat dolls were amazing too.  It was body rolls on top of splits on top of thrusts on top of hair weaves and so many sequins we were almost blinded, even in the nosebleeds.  They did "jai ho" which we were hoping.  Nicole Scherzinger has a rockin' voice, good moves, and she was born in Hawaii, so she's okay in my book.

Waiting for the Pussycat Dolls to come out.

The Pussycat Dolls . . . notice the amount of bars and poles

George 4 Easterz

This Easter weekend we went down to St. George with Tanya's family.  Since her grandma passed away in February, everyone wanted to get together and do all of her favorite things.  She loved Easter.
We drove down on Friday with our swimsuits and sunscreen packed, hoping for a warm weekend where we could lay by the pool.  We joked that it would probably rain the whole time. . . and it almost did.  It was warm Sunday though, just in time for us to go to church and then drive back to Salt Lake for more rain and cold.  It was a really fun weekend though.  I married into an awesome family!

First order of business: All you can eat wings at Wingers, and asphalt pie!

Bart and Pennie gave us flip flops and t-shirts for easter.  Tanks Pam!

On Saturday we went to the Hurricane Car Show.  Tanya's Grandpa Tapp entered his car, so we went to see it.  We also saw a lot of other cool/interesting/outrageous cars.
"nice truck . . . sorry about your wiener"

Is that really necessary?

This car was made to be a giant bumper car.  We almost bought it, it was for sale for only like $3,000

Dreaming of NYC

Well I usually leave the blogging up to Rodney but I'm at school (not studying for my math test in T-minus 2.5 hours) and I started dreaming about the trip Rod gave me for my birthday. We're going to NYC to visit Brian, Amy, and little Enderito! It can't come fast enough. I already had a countdown for the termination of this semester and now we are leaving at midnight the day of my last final! Can you say midnight party plane?? I really can't wait. I haven't been since I was fifteen and I pretty much only took ballet classes the whole time I was there. I'm ready to become the most touristy tourist in all of history. Get ready Brian, Amy, and Ender. . . we're coming!

Give me summer or give me death

With the craziness of school, we somehow forgot to blog it up!  We've been busy with lots of fun stuff.  I'll be done with classes in a week and then just finals, Tanya has a couple of weeks after that.  We've only been in school for 4 months in the past year, which is kind of pathetic, but we're still trucking along.
Tanya is set to graduate in December and I should graduate next April!  We're super excited but it's getting to the point where we don't know what the H we're gonna do with our lives.  We both have kind of broad majors (Health Education and Business Management) and neither of us have done internships . . . but we will just take things a day at a time and hope to somehow win the lottery or maybe a reality TV show.  Who knows, that's the plan for now.  Seems like the most logical way to go about it.

Last month Danielle and Brenden came to Utah for a week.  It was so much fun to see them.  We love our little booger and every time we see him he's more and more playful and can do more stuff.  That also means he can run away from us, which is new, but we got some good quality time in with him.

He seemed to like laundry basket rides.

See him trying to run away?

It was Tanya's Birthday on March 24th!  Unfortunately, she got sick right before so she was in bed all day on her birthday.  We celebrated a little but couldn't go out on her Birthday like we had planned.  She got a cake with prinkles and white frosting (her fave).  She also got a trip to NYC in May, Twilight, a cupcake carryer, napkin rings, and lots of clothes and cash from our parents.

lots of prinkles

One of our best friends Dani is getting married in a couple of weeks.  Tan went to her shower with the gals and here are some pics.

Total BFF

On the Friday after Tanya's birthday we went on our birthday date!

It all started out with pedicures at gateway mall.  we got good price.

A hot stone leg massage to ease your troubles? Yes please.

I got one too.  Kind of a waste for guys, but still nice and relaxing.

Tani got the deluxe flower and jewel toes

After the pedicures we went to one of our favorite restaurants . . . TUCANOS!

Tanya was really happy because the waitress agreed to give her a birthday treat without singing to her.  I told her I was the one that wanted them to sing, and I was the one paying her tip.  So . . . . . . . . . . this happened

Happy Bird-day from Tucanos!

Just shopping at Gateway

The last part of our date was going to see Odyssey dance company.  Most of it was called "The Can Can Club" and was done to Moulin Rouge songs.  The dancers were really good.  One of them was Matt from last years "So You Think You Can Dance."  I got the Tickets free for working at the Marriott.  So far with Marriott we've gotten to do tons of free stuff like river rafting, eating at Ruth's Chris, Body Worlds, and Lagoon.  Not to mention the employee hotel discount!

This year we decided not to go to the Hare Krishna "Festival of Colors."  Married boring couple? Maybe.  We did it last year.  But we went down to Provo and went to dinner with some friends who went (Dan, Kara, and Malia).  Twas fun.  We eated the carnivore pizza . . . the night after Tucanos.  Sieck.

The bike we WILL own if we ever live by the beach

While Tanya's parents went to "Da Big Island" of Hawaii for his work trip, we house sat and made sure Bruvvers behaved.  We had some wild nights in Lehi . . .
We love you (future) Sister Kelson!  You will be missed.
